Privacy Policy

At Notify ("we," "our," or "us"), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App") and this website. Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the App or the website.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you register we collect your name and email address, and you may add a profile photo. You can sign up with an email and password, or with Google or Apple; if you use Google or Apple we receive the name and email address that service shares with us. We assign each account a unique user ID.

Content you create

Tasks, reminders, announcements, checklists, attachments, photos and voice notes you add, along with the names of your Circles and who belongs to them. This content is stored on our servers so that you and the members of the Circle it belongs to can see it. Content in a Circle is visible to that Circle's members.

Saved places

If you save a place for location-based reminders, we store its name and coordinates with your account.

Device location and motion

To remind you when you arrive at or leave a saved place, the App uses your device's location services. The App may also keep a short-lived record of your device's location and motion on your device (for up to 7 days) to suggest places you visit often. This record stays on your device; we do not upload your device's location history to our servers.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, we store a push notification token for your device so we can deliver reminders and Circle updates.

Purchases

If you subscribe to Notify Plus, Apple or Google processes the payment and we receive your subscription status and purchase details through our subscription provider, RevenueCat, linked to your account ID. We do not receive your payment card details.

Usage and analytics data

We use Google's Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used and to improve it. It records how you interact with the App (for example which screens you open and which features you use), technical information about your device and app version, an app-instance identifier that is not linked to your account, and a general location derived from your IP address (not your device's GPS). We do not send Google the content of your tasks, reminders, announcements, Circle names or invite codes, or your name or email. We do not use advertising identifiers and do not use analytics data for advertising. Google keeps event-level analytics data for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months. You can turn analytics off at any time in the App under Profile → Preferences → "Share usage analytics".

App Permissions

The App may request access or permissions to certain features from your mobile device, including:

• Camera: We request camera access to allow you to scan QR codes for joining Circles and to take photos for your profile picture.
• Microphone and speech recognition: We request microphone access to enable you to record voice notes and to dictate tasks. Dictation is processed by your device's speech recognition service (provided by Apple or Google).
• Location: We request location access so we can remind you when you arrive at or leave a saved place.
• Notifications: We request permission to send you push notifications to remind you of tasks, updates in your Circles, and other important app-related alerts.
• Storage/Photos/Media: We may request access to your device's storage to save or retrieve images and other files necessary for the App's functionality.

You can change these permissions at any time in your device's settings.

This website

If you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, subject and message; if you request early access we collect your name and email address. The website also uses Firebase Analytics to measure how the site is used (for example button clicks).

2. Use of Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Enable device-to-device communication for Circle features.
• Deliver notifications and reminders, including location-based reminders.
• Process and manage your subscription.
• Understand how the App is used, and improve its functionality and operation.
• Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests.

3. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising. We share information only with service providers that process it on our behalf to run the App:

• Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Firebase Analytics, Google Sign-In and Google Places for place search).
• Apple (Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases and push notifications).
• RevenueCat (subscription and purchase management).

We may also disclose information if required by law.

4. Retention and Deletion

We keep your account information and content until you delete your account or ask us to. To request that your account and associated data be deleted, use the "Request Account Deletion" option on our Contact page. Analytics data is kept by Google for the periods described above.

5. Your Choices

• Turn analytics off in the App under Profile → Preferences.
• Change camera, microphone, location and notification permissions in your device's settings.
• Ask us to delete your account and data, or ask questions about your data, using the contact details below.

6. Security of Your Information

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

7. Policy for Children

We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to children under the age of 13. If you become aware that any data has been collected from children under age 13, please contact us using the contact information provided below.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and change the "Last Updated" date above.
